Am I Racist or Rivalrous

I find myself anxiously approaching the world cup final. I am concerned England will win. Why is it that I can't accept this possibility. England have played some solid rugby and deserve to be in the final after beating France and Australia - yet I find it hard to support them. Is it home nations rivalry, jealousy, unresloved - unrequited love with an English women or pure unadulterated racism.

I am holding onto my somewhat tenuous links with South Africa from seven years ago as my raison d'etre....

As they say...... "I only support 2 teams..... Ireland & everyone that England plays".

Not that Ireland deserve to be supported at the minute.

It has to be down to home nations rivalry. Imagine Scotland or Wales were in the final (chance would be a fine thing) - would you be cheering for them ?

I'll be cheering SA on come Saturday afternoon too :)

I reckon I would have cheered for any of the home nations other than england....I was definately cheering for the french over the english....

Apparently when I play rugby I look like a South African.....

i take it you being compared to a south african rubgy player is a compliment ;)

I know what you mean - I was cheering for anyone other than the ole english last weekend - caused quite a bit of rivalry in work cos the youf didn't understand why I wasn't cheering for England.

Woo hoo !! South Africa !!! (If only I could type in a South African accent)

Now we don't have to listen to all the English commentators talk for the next 4 years about how they won the World Cup twice in a row.
